Taverns and inns played a critical role in colonial life. Just down the street, the Black Horse Tavern was the location where The Committee of Safety, a colonial organization that resisted British rule, met on April 18, 1775, the day before the British Regulars pillaged and set fire to many buildings in Menotomy (present-day Arlington) on their retreat from Concord. Today, Arlington is again home to wonderful taverns, restaurants, and gastropubs town-wide. These include the Menotomy Grill & Tavern, and Arlington Brewing Company to host a special, festive Beer Hall in Robbins Memorial Town Hall this Patriot's Day weekend! Huzzah!

Part of Arlington 250's fun-filled week of Patriot's Day activities for all ages as we celebrate Arlington's (formerly Menotomy) historic past and role in the American Revolution. For complete Patriot's Day Week 2024 schedule, see https://www.arlington250.org/patriots24/. The week celebration is presented by Leaderbank.
