Sailing into or out of Boston? Whether you’re starting your ocean adventure here or returning from a voyage, Flynn Cruiseport Boston makes the process smooth and traveler-friendly. Here’s what to expect when you arrive for embarkation and when you disembark after your cruise.
Embarking in Boston
Arrival & Parking
Flynn Cruiseport Boston is located in South Boston 1 Black Falcon Black Avenue. If you’re driving, parking is available on-site in secure lots adjacent to the terminal. Shuttles run between the parking areas and the terminal entrance for convenience. Rideshares, taxis, and private drop-offs also have designated drop-off areas near the terminal doors.
The MBTA Silver Line (SL2) stops near the terminal at Drydock Avenue, just a short walk from Cruiseport Boston. This line connects directly to South Station for commuter rail, Amtrak, and Red Line T service, and also runs to Logan Airport. It’s a convenient and budget-friendly option if you’re traveling light.
Checking Luggage
Upon arrival, porters are available outside the terminal to take your checked luggage. Bags are tagged with your cruise line’s luggage tags and will be delivered directly to your stateroom. Keep your carry-on with you, including essentials like travel documents, medications, and valuables. While tips aren’t mandatory, they are greatly appreciated, so consider having some cash on hand.
Security & Boarding
After dropping off your luggage, you’ll move inside to security screening, much like at the airport. Carry-ons are scanned, and travelers walk through metal detectors. From there, you’ll proceed to cruise line check-in counters where your boarding pass and passport are verified. Once cleared, you’ll head to the boarding area and then onto the ship to start your journey!

Disembarking in Boston
Leaving the Ship
On the morning of arrival, your cruise line will announce when groups can disembark. Guests typically leave in assigned waves based on flight times or independent travel plans.
Collecting Luggage
After exiting the ship, you’ll move into the terminal’s baggage claim area. Luggage is arranged by color-coded tags or numbers assigned before the end of your cruise. Simply locate your luggage zone and collect your bags. Porters will be on hand to help you and depending on your bag count, this can be an efficient way to get through this leg of disembarkation.
Transportation Options
From the terminal, transportation is straightforward:
– Taxis and rideshares line up just outside the terminal.
– Shuttle buses and private transfers are available if arranged ahead of time.
– Public Transit (MBTA): The Silver Line (SL2) picks up nearby on Drydock Avenue, connecting you to South Station and Logan Airport for onward travel.
– Logan International Airport is only about 15 minutes away by car, making it easy to catch a flight.
For those staying in Boston, many downtown hotels are within a short taxi or rideshare ride.
