Susannah Bothe Photography is a woman-owned photography business in Salem, MA. Below, she shares some details on their business and the importance of supporting local.
Describe your business in 50 words or less.
I am a published, award-winning portrait and lifestyle photographer based on the North Shore of Boston. My signature style is dramatic light and emotive portraiture. I also dabble in fine art photography, capturing landscapes and details.
What makes your business unique?
What makes Susannah Bothe Photography unique is my style of photography, in which I play with light and shadow, creating a mood, and capturing my subjects in an authentic way. I focus my attention on portraiture of small business owners, and particularly female small business owners.
What does your business look like?
I am a photographer who specializes in environmental and on-location portraits, not in studio. I have an online presence that is most visible on my Instagram page with over 3,000 followers.
Why is it important to support businesses like yours?
Because I focus so much on female small business owners, I feel that I am giving these women the opportunity for well-deserved exposure.
Do you want to say anything to your customers or guests?
I am a very approachable, friendly person, and I’m able to make my subjects feel at ease in front of the camera, even those who don’t think they will feel comfortable.
How has your business changed or adapted during the COVID-19 pandemic?
My photography business has been busier than ever since summer of 2020, as I think so many people have reinvented themselves, starting new business, and thus need portraits and other branding materials. I am happy to be part of this reinvention and to see that people are following their dreams.
