April 2022

Dear MOTT Partners,

Massachusetts celebrates the arrival of spring with iconic events, from the Boston Marathon, Patriots Day and Red Sox opening day to Easter, Earth Day, and school vacation week. This year, we are also delighted that outdoor dining is returning across the Commonwealth, and we’re rooting for the Boston Celtics to go deep into the playoffs.

On the grant front, see MOTT’s update below on various opportunities, including the new Travel and Tourism Season Extension (TTSE) Grant, which closes on May 16.

In our April MA Spotlight, we talk with Vince Jackson, executive director of the Greater Northampton Chamber of Commerce and the Hampshire County RTC, who shares some exciting initiatives for restaurants and small businesses in Paradise City and Hampshire County.

And finally, congratulations to the MA Film Office, Gloucester’s fishing community, Berklee College of Music and everyone involved in the #MadeinMA film CODA, which just won three Oscar awards for Best Picture, Best Adapted Screenplay and Best Supporting Actor. Bravo!

Thank you for your continued support and collaboration and enjoy spring.

Best Regards,

Keiko Matsudo Orrall
Executive Director
