DECEMBER 2018

Dear Colleagues,

Massachusetts is aglow with the holiday season in December, as retailers, restaurants, hotels and cultural venues celebrate our shared traditions. Visitors and residents alike can find full details on MOTT’s Winter Holidays page.

This month’s MA Spotlight features GBCVB President & CEO Pat Moscaritolo, who retires in February 2019 after a distinguished career. Best wishes to Pat, and we look forward to working with his successor, Martha Sheridan.

The tourism community is saddened by the passing of Lauri Klefos. Lauri was a terrific leader who knew the value of partnership in successfully branding the Berkshires as a visitor destination over the past decade. Our thoughts are with Lauri’s family, friends and colleagues.

2018 has been a strong year, and we are grateful for your passion and hard work along the way. With 2019 fast approaching, we look forward to continued progress in promoting Massachusetts as a four-season destination.

Sincerely,

Francois-Laurent Nivaud
Executive Director

MA Film Office

2018 was a busy year for film and, particularly, for television in Massachusetts. With four new episodic TV series, plus feature films such as Little Women, directed by Greta Gerwig and starring Meryl Streep, Emma Watson and Timothee Chalamet; and Jungleland a Scott Free production filmed in Fall River and New Bedford last summer, more local crew, actors and vendors, as well as cities and towns, are engaged in film activity than ever before.
