Art is subjective, but we think we can objectively say that Massachusetts has the best art in the entire solar system. After all, it’s home to the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston, one of the world’s most impressive collections of fine art; Mass MoCA, the country’s most fertile site for large scale new art; and the “small but big” Worcester Art and Fitchburg Art Museums. Plus, there’s a whole Museum of Bad Art, and one that’s free if your name is Isabella. Wake up your soul at the Jacob’s Pillow dance festival, catch yourself clapping inappropriately loud for the world famous Boston Symphony Orchestra or banging your head (in a good way) in the birthplace of hardcore punk. And don’t leave without experiencing some drama (also in a good way) at one of our amazing theaters, from The Mahaiwe Performing Arts Center in The Berkshires to Worcester’s majestic Hanover Theatre to Boston’s storied theater district. You can also visit the Massachusetts Cultural Council website for more information on the arts in Massachusetts.
