A taste of England: Shelly’s Tea Rooms brings an English experience to Massachusetts

Shelly’s Tea Rooms is a tea shop based in Plymouth, MA. Below, the team shares some details on their business and the importance of supporting local.

Describe your business in 50 words or less.

We are Massachusetts’ only English tea rooms, owned and run by English people.

What makes your business unique?

Our unique selling proposition is our authenticity. We moved from England in January 2022 after running two successful, award-winning tea rooms there for 12 years. Everything we serve is as you would find it in England, from our selection of teas to our afternoon teas and scones.

What does your business look like?

We are a brick-and-mortar shop situated in the heart of downtown Plymouth, America’s Hometown. Our 103 teas and many of our tea and British-themed goods can be purchased through our website.

Why is it important to support businesses like yours?

Small family businesses such as ours are our country’s lifeblood, in fact, all countries, and it really is a case of “use them or lose them.” We are very fortunate for the support from so many amazing customers since we opened. Our unique offering helps us, but without the support of our customers, we would not have enjoyed the success that we have.

Do you want to say anything to your customers or guests?

If you have ever wanted to try an authentic taste of England, you must visit us. We even have a red London phone box outside for the perfect photo op!
