Throughout the year it is important to prune different plants. This series of workshops will focus on the essentials of when and how to prune those plants. We will use selected shrubs and trees at Tower Hill to discuss and practice our pruning skills. Each workshop will cover making proper cuts, different forms of pruning and most importantly pruning plants at the correct time. We will focus on plants that can be pruned at that specific time to improve their health, vitality, and flowering. You will visit several plants and learn about how we would prune depending upon desired objectives. On select plants we will practice making some actual cuts. These workshops will be specific to plant Genus that are commonly grown in gardens in New England and will provide you with a clear understanding of why it is important to prune plants at the correct time of year. The timing of each class is at the beginning of the pruning window so you will have time to go home and work with what you have learned.
There are 5 workshops throughout the year. Signup for one or all five.
