Exhibitions, History Library and Gift Shop on Main Street at Fitchburg Historical Society

Founded by James F.D. Garfield in 1892, the Fitchburg Historical Society is an independent non-profit that was created to collect, preserve, and interpret the history of Fitchburg. In its historic Main Street building, the Historical Society hosts lectures, debates and annual events relating to the city's history. It has published a number of books on the history of Central Massachusetts, including Legendary Locals of Fitchburg, in 2014 and on the occasion of Fitchburg's 250th anniversary.
