Walk in the footsteps of Frederick Douglass, William Lloyd Garrison, Maria Stewart and all the brave men, women, and children who rallied for freedom, equality, and access to public education for all Americans at the Museum of African American History. In Boston and Nantucket, MAAH is the proud steward of two Black Heritage Trails® and four historic sites, three of which are National Historic Landmarks. Our crown jewel is the beautifully restored African Meeting House, which dates back to 1806. It's the oldest extant black church building in the United States, and the last stop on the Boston Trail. On Nantucket, the African Meeting House (circa 1827) is the last stop on the island's Trail.
