From towering totem poles and large Maya sculptures to precious artifacts of the ancient world, the Peabody Museum at Harvard exhibits six continents of world culture just a short walk from Harvard Square. The Peabody is known for extensive Native American and Mesoamerican collections, including life-size casts of Maya monuments, as well as changing exhibitions such as Wiyohpiyata: Lakota Images of the Contested West featuring 19th-century warrior art, Digging Veritas, which explores the archaeology of colonial Harvard, All the World Is Here featuring the famed FeeJee Mermaid and the history of anthropology at Harvard, and Resetting the Table, about the history and culture of food. Admission to the connected Harvard Museum of Natural History is included.
