MORE THAN 1000 RUSSIAN ICONS AND ARTIFACTS SPANNING SIX CENTURIES | The Museum of Russian Icons was founded as a nonprofit educational institution by industrialist Gordon B. Lankton. The collection includes more than 1000 Russian icons, is the largest collection in North America, and is one of the largest private collections outside Russia. The compendium spans six centuries including significant historic icons dating from the earliest periods of icon painting to the present.

The Museum of Russian Icons inspires the appreciation and study of Russian culture by collecting and exhibiting icons and related objects; igniting the interest of national and international audiences; and offering interactive educational programs. The Museum serves as a leading center for research and scholarship through the Center for Icon Studies and other institutional collaborations.
