Known for prime harvesting conditions, it’s no surprise that Massachusetts has a bustling farmers market scene. While August is marked by National Farmers Market Week, the celebration of fresh produce and locally-sourced bites extends year round. The Salem Farmers Market is as storied as the city it takes place in, with its origin dating back to 1634. The market peaked in the 1930s when around 10,000 people attended on a given Saturday.
