With fall here, and the days turning cooler, our thoughts turn to pumpkin carving, raking leaves, warm cider, and of course, apple picking. We’ve been out visiting some of the best pick-your-own orchards and want to share them with you.
Honeypot Hill Orchards
138 Sudbury Road, Stow
Honey Pot Hill Orchards, has been a family owned and operated farm since 1926. They are committed to creating a fun family-friendly atmosphere and providing a variety of orchard treats and activities! The 180-acre farm offers bountiful fruit available to pick yourself or purchase at the farm store. There’s farm animals, hay rides, a hedge maze and cider donuts.

Hilltop Orchards & Brewery, Richmond

With 26 varieties of apples to choose from, you’re bound to find a few that you like. You can also take a “full moon hike”, taste some wine at the Furnace Brook Winery or just take in the beautiful views of the Berkshire Mountains.

Their bakery churns out fresh cider donuts every day. They’re made from scratch using a tried and true family recipe, and have been celebrated and praised by scores of visitors for the past 35 years. The wine shop is open every day, with tastings available on Fridays from 1:30-5:30, and Saturdays and Sundays from 12:00-5:30. Stop by for a taste of a true New England Hard Cider and fruit wine, all made at the farm with the fruits that they grow.
Belkin Family Lookout Farm
89 Pleasant Street, South Natick
Picking your own fruit is a New England tradition and the farm offers a variety of fruit from June through October. Ride the train to the Children’s Play Area, visit with the farm animals and enjoy many other fun activities. The farm is owned by local residents Joan and Steve Belkin who embrace a philosophy of healthy nutrition and respect for the environment.

Conveniently located at the junctions of the Mass Pike and I84, Hyland Orchard & Brewery is a real gem. Once the apples are ripe, the outdoor pavilion area ramps up its weekend public festivals with pick-your-own apples and stand sales, live bands, wagon rides, animal petting, brewery and farm tours, pumpkins and food vendors.
