Walking Tours of Boston

First and foremost, Boston is a walking city.
Most visitors will spend a few hours walking through the Boston Common, exploring the Freedom Trail, and wandering down along the Harborwalk.
It’s an excellent way to experience the city and it’s something that fascinates groups from Dubuque to Doha.

Noted author, urban explorer and MassFinds contributor Max Grinnell is now offering walking tours that explore some of the Hub’s most vibrant neighborhoods, including Back Bay (home to Copley Square and Newbury Street) and Fenway, which contains part of Frederick Law Olmsted’s revered Emerald Necklace Park system (along with the equally revered Fenway Park, of course).
In a recent interview, Max noted, “I’ve been exploring Boston for twenty years and there’s always something new to see.”

As a seasoned guide, Max brings a certain on-the-ground expertise to his tours, enhanced by years of teaching urban studies and architecture at area colleges, including Boston University, the Boston Architectural College, and the Massachusetts College of Art and Design.
The tours encourage participation, as Max is happy to answer questions while he takes his small groups around the city.

Along the way, visitors learn about everything from hidden architectural details to statues celebrating unique individuals who transformed Boston through their ingenuity and creativity.
Recent visitors have described Max’s walking tours as “completely fascinating” and “a great way to learn neat facts about Boston,” offering something for both residents and visitors.
Currently, Max is offering walking tours of the Back Bay and the Fenway on a regular basis, and corporate and private groups are always welcome.
