10 Bars & Restaurants To Celebrate Baseball’s Return

To help get the ball rolling (figuratively speaking), we’ve gathered a list of 10 sports bars in Massachusetts that offer up delicious food, cold drinks, and, of course, the chance to watch some great games this season.
Without further ado, and presented in no particular order, here they are:
1. The Four’s Restaurant and Sports Bar in Norwell, MA

A sister restaurant to the original Four’s that’s only steps away from the Boston Garden, The Four’s in Norwell is a signature New England sports bar and a welcome meeting place for hungry fans. The lunch and dinner menus have something to please everyone, and make sure to check to see what’ll be served for daily specials on game day!
2. Peppercorn’s Grille & Tavern in Worcester, MA
Serving up both casual Italian food and more traditional pub cuisine, Peppercorn’s has been a favorite family-friendly dining spot for over 25 years. The bar and lounge is home to 7 high-definition flat screens where you can watch the game and enjoy appetizer specials or the restaurant’s full menu. To top it all off, Worcester’s only craft beer brewery, the Wormtown Brewery, is located right next door and provides the bar with a great selection of seasonal offerings.

3. DJ’s Family Sports Pub in Hyannis, MA
Beginning as a restaurant with only seven tables back in 1989, DJ’s Family Sports Pub has since become one of the Cape’s most recognizable sports pubs. Games days are the best days to enjoy the menu’s finger-licking Buffalo wings, specialty sandwiches and other daily specials, and with TVs in all of the booths, you never have to look far to find a good view, either.
4. Scoreboard Sports Bar & Grill in Woburn, MA
With over 30 high-definition big screen TVs and an impressive 85” Plasma screen, Scoreboard Sports Bar and Grill is one of the top sports bars in the Greater Boston area where fans can cheer on their team. With nightly specials like 50-cent wings on Mondays, trivia Tuesdays, and live bands every Friday and Saturday, there’s always something going on at Scoreboard, even if there’s no baseball game to watch. 5. Samuel’s Sports Bar in Springfield, MA
Originally a small, unassuming bar, Samuel’s has since transformed into a popular favorite in Western Massachusetts and is the quintessential sports bar – in fact, it’s located within the Basketball Hall of Fame itself! With tapas appetizers, classic pub fare, lunch and dinner menus, there’s a variety of delicious food to be had. 6. Hot Stove Saloon in Harwich, MA
Decorated with baseball memorabilia dating back to the early 1900s, the Hot Stove in the center of Harwich Port Village is a shrine to the history of baseball. The extensive menu can be found here, and daily specials often include fresh, local seafood. You can watch the game on one of the Hot Stove’s thirteen high-definition flat screens, and be sure to bring the kids along, because they’re welcomed with free baseball cards.
7. McGreevy’s in Boston, MA
Inspired by legendary fan Michael “’Nuf Ced” McGreevy and the Royal Rooters Nation, McGreevy’s Boston is a no-brainer if you’re looking for a lively place to watch the home opener. Or, if you’re simply hoping to get a taste of Boston’s baseball history, McGreevy’s walls are completely covered with sports memorabilia, perfectly setting the atmosphere. Plus, with half-off all appetizers from 4-7 p.m. on game day, you can save a few dollars on some delicious pub fare.

8. The Lower Depths Tap Room in Boston, MA
Right in the heart of Kenmore Square, The Lower Depths is just steps from the park and a great spot to grab a bite and a drink on game day. With menu items like a Grown-Up Grilled Cheese and a Lowlife Lobster Roll, plus over 150 bottles of beer and 16 rotating drafts, the Lower Depths gives you plenty of choices right at the heart of the action. Oh, and, their franks are just $1, even if they aren’t the original ballpark franks. Perhaps a taste-test is in order…
9. The Bleacher Bar in Boston, MA
If Lower Depths doesn’t get you quite close enough to the action, fear not; Bleacher Bar will get you even closer! Situated underneath the bleachers in center field, this spot is perfect to grab some great food and drinks before, during or after the game, all while experiencing the historic charm and one-of-a-kind atmosphere of America’s Most Beloved Ballpark.

10. Cask ‘n Flagon in Boston, MA
One of Boston’s most iconic sports bars, the Cask ‘n Flagon also puts you right in the thick of it. The menus offer classic bar fare, as well as seafood and barbecue, not to mention a fine selection of cocktails. Photos of former greats Bobby Doerr, Ted Williams and other legends grace the walls, while the outdoor patio area provides the option of a little fresh air, if you’re in the mood. If you’re planning on making a trip into Boston to catch a game at the end of the week or anytime this season, then why not stay in the city?
