This fall, we’re introducing a new way to see everyone’s favorite fall colors — #MAinstafoliage (massvacation.com/fall), an interactive photo stream that captures the real-time essence of all that Massachusetts’ fall foliage season has to offer by region from the folks who know it best: our fans, residents, and travelers alike!
It’s simple: each day, through October 31st, on Twitter and Instagram we’re asking folks to share photos of the local foliage in their respective Massachusetts region, and tag them with #MAinstafoliage.
In turn, our #MAinstafoliage site is going to aggregate all of the photos that have been tagged in real time, giving you the most up-to-date picture of Massachusetts’ current foliage conditions.
We also decided to take that real-time concept a step further with our interactive foliage map, which organizes the most recent #MAinstafoliage photos by region, and day of the month.
In other words, our foliage map is your chance to highlight the breathtaking foliage in your region (or the region you’re visiting), while also showing off your photo taking skills!
So, here’s how it works:
1. Post a vibrant foliage photo to either Instagram or Twitter
2. Include #MAinstafoliage within your photo caption or tweet
3. Tell us where your photo was taken by including a regional hashtag:
- #GreaterBoston
- #NorthOfBoston
- #SouthOfBoston
- #CapeAndIslands
- #CentralMass
- #WesternMass
Additionally, each week, we’re going to select our favorite #MAinstafoliage photo, and we’ll be featuring it on our Visit Massachusetts Facebook page as our “Photo of the Week,” which will be showcased in our page’s cover image for a week’s duration!
Now, if photo taking isn’t your thing, #MAinstafoliage also comes complete with a full listing of Massachusetts’ fall events and activities, as well as popular foliage driving routes. So, if you’re looking for some family fun, or weekend activity suggestions, we have you covered with everything, all in one place: massvacation.com/fall.
Get on out there, combine some photos with a few choice hashtags and, above all else, enjoy the fall season, folks! 🙂
