We recently asked our Facebook fans and Twitter followers to tell us their favorite orchard, and here’s a quick rundown of some popular picks!
Brookfield Orchards in North Brookfield, MA
Open year round, and located just a half hour west of Worcester, Brookfield Orchards has apples aplenty. Along with the apple picking, Brookfield Orchards also has their own range of jams and assorted baked goods, including the signature apple dumplings, and a snack bar. The free admission and free parking doesn’t hurt, either! You can keep up with Brookfield Orchards on Facebook.

Honey Pot Hills Orchards in Stow, MA
One of our most popular fan choices, Honey Pot Orchards grows a range of apples, including Cortland, MacIntosh, Macoun and Empire. The orchard store stocks a variety of goodies as well, offering cider donuts, pies, soft serve ice cream and caramel apples. Picking is available at Honey Pot Hills, which is located between Boston and Worcester, through October 20, so plan to head over during the next couple of weeks. Brooksby Farm in Peabody, MA
At Brooksby Farm, you won’t just find apples. While strawberries and blueberry seasons have passed, you can still find plenty of peaches at this north of Boston farm, along with a fine selection of apples. The garden store features veggies, jams, honey, pies, and, of course, fresh fruit. For the latest happenings at Brooksby Farm, keep an eye on their Facebook page.
Hilltop Orchards in Richmond, MA
Orchards are plentiful in the western part of the state, and Hilltop is one of the best around. Known as “A Tasty Berkshires Experience,” Hilltop Orchards is nothing less, beckoning with apple picking, wine tastings, moonlight walks and more. If you needed any further proof of Hilltop’s appeal, the orchards have also been named as one of 1,000 places to visit in Massachusetts and featured on The Today Show! Keith’s Farm in Acushnet, MA
Apples, peaches and pumpkins are the name of the game at Keith’s Farm in Acushnet, which is also known for its delightful cider. If you head out the farm on the weekend, you can also enjoy a hayride along with your fruit picking and perhaps follow it up with a visit to the snack bar.
