This holiday season in Massachusetts, there’s no shortage of spectacular theatrical productions — from The Nutcracker to the can’t-miss, annual Holiday Pops, from the Harbor to the Berkshires, you’ll find a rich heritage of outstanding theater.
Today, our theatrical heritage continues, as just a few blocks from the MBTA Red Line, nestled in the heart of Cambridge’s Central Square, the Central Square Theater has revived the oh-so-colorful, family-friendly, award-winning production of Arabian Nights, a transcending storytelling experience that runs through December 30th!
Presented by The Nora Theatre Company, and the Underground Railway Theater, Arabian Nights transports its audience back to ancient Persia, with storytelling based on One Thousand and One Nights, a collection of folk tales from the Middle East and Asia featuring suspense, romance, and hilarity — suitable for all ages.

“This irresistible production of Arabian Nights transports us to another world that reminds us of the power of storytelling, not only to take us outside of ourselves, but to recognize our common humanity.” –Boston Globe
Adapted by Dominic Cooke, and directed by Daniel Gidron, the award-winning production — 2012 Independent Reviewers of New England Awards for Best Ensemble, Best Puppetry, Best Costumes, and Best Director — at its heart, is designed to power your imagination this holiday season!
