Fall in New England is one of those things that you just need to experience in order to truly appreciate the beauty and wonder of the season. Colorful fall foliage, the sounds of crunching leaves, and the smells of wood fires create an unforgettable experience that’s only heightened when experienced by bicycle. Newburyport, MA-based bike tour company, Easy Rider Tours welcomes cyclists every Autumn for its  Autumn in the Berkshires bike tour, a six day/five night feast for the senses in Western Massachusetts.
The Berkshires tour begins in Great Barrington, MA at the Windflower Inn, which is located in a beautiful ten-acre country setting. A warm-up ride through the surrounding countryside is followed by time for tour guests to get to know one another over food and wine by a fire.
The bike tour features a set of specially chosen country inns, including the Devonfield in Lee, which was once home to Queen Wilhelmina of the Netherlands. The tour also includes dining at some exceptional local restaurants in the famed Berkshire towns of Great Barrington, Lee, and Lenox.
Daily bike rides take cyclists over bridges, and along lanes flanked by colorful foliage, over rolling pasturelands, and allow them to take in majestic mountain views. Breaks are built into the itinerary to allow a rest from cycling, as well as to experience some of the quaint sights the Berkshires are known for — Sheffield’s covered bridge and antique shops, Alford’s classic town common, the Mill River general store, and Great Barrington’s art scene.

In addition to cycling past horse farms and vistas shared by the Appalachian Trail, bike tour guests also have the opportunity to enjoy short hikes at the Pleasant Valley Audubon Sanctuary, Bartholomew’s Cobble, and the mysterious Ice Glen.

The Autumn in the Berkshires bike tour not only allows guests to experience the outdoor beauty Massachusetts has to offer, it also includes more than a glimpse of the Berkshires artistic tradition, including time to visit Butler Sculpture Park, Tanglewood, Chesterwood, the Norman Rockwell Museum, and Hancock Shaker Village.
From small towns to country roads, the Autumn in the Berkshires bike tour celebrates Massachusetts at its finest with the perfect mix of cycling, delicious food, arts, and culture.
